Barbara Lee serves in the US House from California’s 9th congressional district. She has also served as Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus and Co-Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. She was the only member of either house of Congress to vote against the authorization of the use of force against the perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks.

At a time when we should be remembering and uplifting the accomplishments and contributions of African Americans, to the history, culture, civil rights and economy of America, we are literally during this month debating steps that will severely undercut and undermine that legacy.”
