“It is a major crusade of mine a major cause of mine and that is to get rid of the Star Spangled Banner. Now I know you’re going to say I am not a true American I’m not patriotic. I don’t think patriotism has anything to do with it. The National Anthem is just absolutely monumentally un-singable. I mean it’s – there’s so much wrong with it. I don’t know where to start.

…I mean when you think about it, it’s bombs bursting in air rockets red glare it’s all kinds of, you know, a lot of national anthems are that way all kinds of military jargon.

…And the land there’s only one phrase ‘the land of the free’ which is kind of nice and ‘the home of the brave?’ I don’t know…Are we (Americans) the only ones who are brave on the planet? I mean all the brave people live here. I mean it’s just stupid I think. I’m embarrassed every time, I’m embarrassed every time we hear it.”

“Raised a Catholic, I was taught the great phrase ‘Necal [sic] nisi bonum’ you don’t say anything about the dead unless you’re saying good things about the dead. Well, then I should say nothing about Andrew Breitbart because I can’t think of one good thing to say about him.

…He was called a happy warrior, the most effect and innovative user of the new media. That’s a phrase I saw a lot how innovative he was in using the new media. And you know they’re right about that, he was very innovative in using the new media to distribute and to disseminate lies, for the most part, lies. I mean the guy had he was a right-wing extremist, he had a right-wing agenda and he used the new media to spread right-wing propaganda even if it wasn’t true.”

“You know, it’s a wonder lightning just doesn’t strike people dead on the spot when they say stuff like [John Boehner said].”
