Carl Bernstein, a college dropout, is famous for his part of the reporting duo (along with Bob Woodward) which exposed Nixon’s role in the Watergate scandal. Bernstein revealed in a memoir that his parents were members of the Communist Party.


“I think [the public isn’t really concerned about the unemployed] partly because there’s a racial perception involved which is not even accurate about who the unemployed in this country are.  I think that there is a perception that blacks and Hispanics are overweighted in the unemployed category and that there is a kind of prejudice.”
