“Well, I think part of [why Romney stopped in Poland] was a desire to portray President Obama as something of a wimp, and say he’s abandoned Eastern Europe. But look, you remember well the Reagan Democrats. Those ethnic white voters who had been Democrats for many years; turned out for Ronald Reagan, and have been fairly predictable Republicans since then. Now it’s a smaller percentage of the population — of the voting population — than it used to be, but white voters are still much more Republican than any other group in the electorate. They went for McCain in 2008 by 55%. And I think that getting those ethnic voters excited is really what Romney has in mind here. It’s more for the folks at home — the descendants of the people that he will be speaking to — in Poland.”

“Listen, he would renounce being a sentient being on the planet if it would get him into the White House. This is the kind of man that Mitt Romney is. This man does not have a soul. If you opened up his chest, there’s probably a gold ticking watch in there and not even a heart. This is not a person.”

“And tell me, Goldie, if I`m being too cynical, to think that the Romney campaign actually went in that room today with the hope of getting booed, at least three times, because they want the video of their candidate being booed by the NAACP to play in certain racist precincts where that will actually help them?”

“[T]this might have been a small thing, but it’s important for people to understand. You cannot be culturally ignorant. He
singled out one African-American who came with the 20 in his entourage as an African-American that was in his kitchen cabinet in Massachusetts, and he promised that he would remain in his kitchen cabinet if he was in the White House.

To talk about being in the kitchen and not talk about an African-American actually being in your cabinet is really not a good metaphor to use with African-Americans.”

“Since [Romney] doesn’t have a foreign policy, he buys the foreign policies of the powers that be. So, he sings the song of his neocon so-called advisers. What they really are, of course, are people who advocate a point of view, the
need for a new war with each new Republican president.

…Mitt won’t say a word about taxes that Grover Norquist might disapprove. He won’t approve any deal to cut spending that Grover won’t say OK to. That doesn’t make Mitt a leader. It makes him Grover’s rover.

Grover says pitch. Mitt Pitches. Grover says, beg. Mitt begs.

Same with the religious right. He won’t say a word that Pat Robinson, Franklin Graham crowd hasn’t approved for his political prayer book. There he was down at the Liberty University getting an honorary degree. Now, I didn’t know they give honorary degrees for pandering.

The scariest thing about Mitt Romney is that he really is open for bids. He`s sold his soul to every faction that`s out there, the neocons on foreign policy, the religious right on social policy. Grover on the tax issue.”

“How is this any different than the big boat argument of people when it came to African-Americans after the Civil War, decided, ‘Put them on a boat and send them back where they came from?’ You know, he says it in polite language, but that’s what Romney’s been saying, ‘Get home where you came from, start all over again.'”

“Maybe he’s not running for the presidency of the United States, maybe he’s running for the presidency of ‘Caucasia-stan’ or some place that doesn’t have anyone of color in it.”
